The Kingdoms Explorer Tour

An adventurous exploration of the culture, history, heritage and wildlife of the magical kingdoms of Zululand, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Itinerary

  • Dundee Battlefields DAY 1: Battlefields. Dundee (LX1, DX1).
    After an early departure we make our way to Dundee to explore the battle sites of some of the bloodiest wars between the British and the Zulu's. Battlefields Country Lodge.
  • Drakensberg Mountains DAY 2, 3, 4: The Drakensburg. (BX3, LX2, DX3).
    A day hike searching for ancient bushman paintings and crystal rock pools for a swim. The following day is a 4x4 journey via the famous Sani pass into the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. Kamberg / Eagles Rock.
  • Durban DAY 5: Durban. (BX1, LX1).
    The afternoon is spent on the beach or shopping at the local craft markets. An own expense visit to the "Shaka marine world" in the evening, with dinner and a night on the town.
  • St. Lucia DAY 6, 7: The Greater st. Lucia Wetlands Park. (BX2, LX2, DX2).
    We explore this world heritage site on foot in Black Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo country. Accommodation in a Private Tented Bush camp.
  • Hluhluwe Game Reserve DAY 8, 9: Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game reserve. (BX2, LX2, DX2).
    Early morning and evening game drives to find the "The Big 5" and many other animals and birds endemic to the region. Hilltop Camp.
  • DAY 10, 11, 12: Kosi Bay. (BX3, LX3, DX2).
    We take a boat cruise to see the ancient fishing methods used in the Kosi Bay lake system and a 4x4 drive to the river mouth to relax on the beach or try some snorkelling. Kosi Bay Lodge.
  • Swaziland DAY 13, 14: Swaziland, (BX2, LX2, DX2).
    The final leg of our journey, The Kingdom of Swaziland is well known for the friendly people, colourful culture, adventure sports, spectacular scenery and bustling craft markets. Mantenga Lodge.
